Mission

About Jeremy Schaller

I am a Toronto photographer and visual storyteller with a great passion for using media to share the outdoors, the strong connections in our community and the need to protect our environment.

My goal as a Toronto family portrait photographer is to create timeless images that showcase each member of the family’s unique personality and the love of the family. As a couples portrait photographer I intend to capture tender candid moments shared together with the bond you share. Finally, my goal as a friends portrait photographer is to showcase the joy and connection of the friendship.

There is great importance in both large and small stories. The smaller stories I share are yours and mine. Getting to know people in this community and learning about their story and their vision is one of the things that drives me to create great work. Being behind the lens means that I get to be there and capture fun or important moments when they happen. Building memories, sharing stories, having fun, and maybe most importantly having photos to look back on and remember fondly. That is what makes opportunities like this special.

The larger context I share through my lens involves the planet and human impact on: changing ecosystems, the ocean, forests, animals and wildlife, eco-friendly initiatives and products.

Photos for you

Portrait Photography

I’m here to capture high quality portrait photos for personal creativity and professional representation. There are many occasions in our lives where we need nice photos! Such as special events, marketing tools, holiday fun, sharing with our families, personal use, social media, and even for dating profiles.

I specialize in outdoor portraits, with natural light, in familiar but creative settings. From wilder places, like waterfalls & hikes to more local parks & community spaces. Of course, indoor portraits are also a joy to do and I am flexible with what you need in a photo!

Wild Spaces

Wildlife & Landscape

I capture wildlife and landscape photos for fine art prints, marketing and branding tools, and social media campaigns. I have a unique eye for light and storytelling, and a passion for highlighting the bigger picture of conservation and protection of wild spaces through my art.

The natural world has a special place in my heart. It has always been a place to calm my mind, to seek adventure, to share memories with loved ones and to witness beautiful moments. My camera is my eye into this world and also my best ability to bring a tiny essence of the world home to share with you.

Toronto Skyline

A personal favourite of mine, Toronto has a striking and immediately recognizable cityscape. I have explored and captured photos East, West and from within Toronto. This photo was taken from Tommy Thompson Park.

Lighthouse Facing sunrise

Sunshine casting down golden light over lake Ontario. Sunrise from here is particularly beautiful. Everything from the fishermen to the rocky shores make this photo a standout.

Carved By glaciers

The rocky cliffs here in Saguenay Nation Park, Quebec, Canada, are one of the longest fjords in the world! You can find wildlife and landscape photos from this Canadian treasure on my fine art print shop!

Resting by the Lake

Peaceful days in Niagara-on-the-lake. A warm day, a calming breeze, and time spent together. The man-made canal here is beautiful this time of year.

Climate, species loss, deforestation and more in our natural world

The Environment & Our Place in it

Beyond photography, I am here to enrapture you in the larger scope of the world. To inform, educate, draw out strong emotion, deeper your connection and leave you puzzled with critical questions, like, what is your lasting impact on this world?

I have a worldly passion for our planet and the lives of those who find ourselves here. I want to share these stories not only to encourage people to spend more time in nature, but also to care for it. Wildlife & nature photography, including my own, often only shows an idealized view of nature and animals. With wildlife numbers dropping globally the lives of animals are no longer untouched by man. A lion in 2020 has to deal with human impact as no lion before them. Fences, tourism, poachers, trains, expanding cities, and a changing climate to name a few. I endeavor to share the full gravitas of these true stories with you.
